Kingdom Man-by Dr. Tony Evans
Every Man's Destiny, Every Woman's Dream is a 6-week Bible study for adult men by Dr. Tony Evans. This study is designed to empower men to exercise the God-given dominion they were created for by giving them a Kingdom understanding, vision, and perspective on their identity and responsibilities along with practical steps on how to become a man who rules his world well.

Our culture has redefined manhood by emasculating men through a repositioning of the role. Men are portrayed as weak, self-serving, and unfocused. The Bible clearly communicates that man was created to exercise dominion over the various areas of his life, taking responsibility for himself and others entrusted to his care. When a man functions within the principles of biblical manhood, those around him benefit from his leadership and care. This study challenges and equips men to fully understand their position under God, learning to operate under the authority of Jesus Christ.

Life’s Healing Choices-by John Baker
LIFE HAPPENS - Happiness and healing are yours for the choosing. We have all been hurt by other people-- we've hurt ourselves, and we've hurt others. As a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. Nevertheless, the question we all face is, where do we go from here?

Life's Healing Choices offers freedom from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits through eight healing choices that promise true happiness and life transformation. Through making each of these choices, you too will find God's pathway to wholeness, growth, spiritual maturity, happiness, and healing. You will find real answers, real hope, and a real future -- one healing choice at a time.

Sun. Sept. 23-Nov. 18, 9am (Room 404)
Led by: Gary Wackerlin
Cost for books: covered by generous donor

Forgiven and Set Free (Post-Abortion Recovery)
Are you one of the walking wounded, carrying around the secret of an abortion in your past that haunts you still today? God’s desire is for you to walk in freedom. We lovingly urge you to join this small Bible study group that will allow you to surrender the secret and face your memories in a safe place with other women who understand.

Experience what others have after completing the study. “After years of suppressing these feelings it was very liberating, healing and beneficial to my emotional health.” “It showed me the way to forgiveness after many years of punishing myself. Ultimately, it showed me that what I think of myself and what others may think is distorted. God is the ultimate judge.”

Seminars

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A Christian Response to Adolf Hitler
Bonhoeffer was not simply a theologian, he was a German pastor forced to live out his beliefs during the horrible years of Nazi rule. Hitler's deepening discrimination against the Jews - understood best as part of the larger scientific Eugenics movement in western society - sparked Bonhoeffer to action.

Captivated by Jesus' teachings from the "Sermon on the Mount" and the real life example of Gandhi's nonviolent resistance movement, Bonhoeffer tended first toward a pacifist approach to Adolf Hitler.  When this proved futile, he suddenly refocused his thinking and became part of an assassination plot against Adolf Hitler.  The life and writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer continue to inspire Christians today.

Please join Dr. Joe Thomas and student researcher David Shudy from Urbana Theological Seminary for lunch as they explore the ethical aspects of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's different approaches to ending Hitler's anti-Jewish policies and the Second World War.

If you cannot participate in one of the 3 class options, I strongly encourage you to sign up for a book and work through it yourself. Knowing God in terms of Covenant, is faith and life altering. I am not exaggerating.

Bobbi Hays and Janie St. Pierre will join me leading Covenant. Spread the word and try something new this summer. Watch for sign-up to start soon. May God bless you as you seek to know Him more.

Changes That Heal
The past always affects the present and our ability to have healthy relationships and live up to our God-given potential. In this study of "Changes That Heal" by Henry Cloud, we will look at the areas of bonding, separating from others, making sense of the good and bad in life, and adulthood and how those relate to growing into the people God wants us to be. If depression, anxiety, or general dissatisfaction with your life or relationships has been part of your experience, you will find this group study helpful.
