Insight: Classes, Groups & Seminars

Why do we have Insight classes?
Our desire is to help you value Jesus Christ as the greatest treasure in your life. Sometimes it takes just a little interaction with others and with a teacher to spur you on as you grow in your relationship with God. One of these classes just might give you the extra motivation to take that next step in your understanding, in your application of truth, and in your life.

Take a look at the list of classes offered this semester. Our hope is that one of them will meet you where you have a need.

Pick one, register at windsorroad.org (adults tab), or call the church office at 359-2122, and then join others who are also learning and growing together.

Made to Crave- Lysa Terkeurst
Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment? Made to Crave just may be the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Lysa personally understands the battle women face and she will help you break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today. You’ll be able to reach your healthy goals and draw closer to God and crave him through the process.
(Sorry Gentlemen, this class is for women only.)

Sat. Jan. 14-Mar. 3, 9-11am (Room 110)

The Reason for the Hope
Your Jr. High daughter comes home saying they started a unit on evolution like it was more than just theory.  Your co-worker sees you pray at lunch, commenting, “You don’t really believe there’s anyone listening, do you?”  What can you say to guide or to answer?  In this class, we’ll learn together how “to give a reason for the hope” on issues like: the existence of God, the problem of evil and suffering, did Jesus actually resurrect from the dead.  We’ll learn to make an argument with reason and evidence that shows the Christian worldview to be a viable option for thinking people.
(Sorry Gentlemen, this class is for women only.)

The Truth Project-Focus on the Family
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2
We will embark on what could well be the most important tour of our lives. We are engaged in a cosmic battle—a battle that is raging for the hearts and minds of people the world over, pitting the truth claims of God against the lies of the world, the flesh and the devil. It is a battle over what you truly believe. This project is designed to build a systematic and comprehensive biblical framework by studying God’s blueprint for all of life.

When Godly People Do Ungodly Things-Beth Moore
In this biblical guide to authentic repentance and restoration Beth examines why devoted followers of Jesus Christ can fall into the traps of Satan. Believers are still subject to Satan's attacks. He is determined to disrupt the lives of Christians, destroy their ministry, and steal their joy. Sadly, those who have "fallen" may not recognize the devil's schemes until they have already been caught in a snare of defeat. This study will serve as a warning to believers, show you how to prepare for attacks by the Enemy and help those who have been snared by seduction, and compassionately point the way back to God.

SUPPORT CLASS OPTIONS

GriefShare
It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

Forgiven and Set Free (Post-Abortion Recovery)
Are you one of the walking wounded, carrying around the secret of an abortion in your past that haunts you still today? God’s desire is for you to walk in freedom. We lovingly urge you to join this small Bible study group that will allow you to surrender the secret and face your memories in a safe place with other women who understand. Experience what others have after completing the study. “After years of suppressing these feelings it was very liberating, healing and beneficial to my emotional health.” “It showed me the way to forgiveness after many years of punishing myself. Ultimately, it showed me that what I think of myself and what others may think is distorted. God is the ultimate judge.”
(Sorry Gentlemen, this class is for women only.)

ONE DAY SEMINARS

Love Wins-lunch lecture by Todd Daly
If ‘love wins,’ can Hell still exist? What are we to make of Rob Bell’s book about Heaven and Hell and “the fate of very person who ever lived”? We’ll explore and critique Bell’s main arguments in his latest book, Love Wins, as we try to make sense of the often vexing doctrine of Hell, which both Christians and non-Christians often find deeply troubling.

Sun. Feb. 26, 12:15-3pm (The Garage)
Lunch provided.
Cost for lunch: $5 donation
Child care available for donation.

Jews for Jesus-Christ in the Passover
Christ in the Passover shows the link between the ancient Festival of Redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God. Scripture will be used as well as visual items to walk through a Jewish Passover seder, weaving the story of the Exodus together with the life, death and resurrection of Christ. The words He spoke in the upper room come alive as each Hebraic item is carefully explained. Appropriate for children.

Tues. Mar. 27, 7-9pm (Worship Center)

Childcare Information
We are blessed at WRCC to have a dedicated team of childcare workers who genuinely care about children. Our childcare workers are compensated for their time in caring for the children so that parents are able to participate in Bible study classes. The fee for each child to attend a weekly class is $5 with a maximum family cost of $10 per week. Childcare scholarships available upon request.

Class Cost
Some classes require the purchasing of materials. As always, we never want anyone to miss a class due to cost. Scholarships are available, just let us know and we can talk about options.
